In principle, land management and administration are defined as the planning, management, and administration of methods and techniques aimed at integrating ecological, social, economic, and legal principles related to the purposes and management of land for urban and rural development. Because land is an essential resource for human survival and for maintaining ecosystems, education related to land management and administration has become more important for sustainable development. In Cambodia, human resources, who are working on this field, are very limited. Hence, the Faculty of Land Management and Land Administration has been established since 2002 by the agreement between the Land Management and Administration Project of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, and the Royal University of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to meet the country's needs.
